“2007”
Stricken with the pains of love
catapulted
into a crisis of faith
...and identity
I knew not who I was
or that what I believed
was real
Then I met Greg
who literarily saved my life
shortly thereafter.
Shortly thereafter:
my beloved feline friend
of 16 years, died
as did my job of 9
and a relationship with the only father figure I knew
until then.
And then...
a move to a new state
loss of a car I owned
& loved
my brother committed suicide
WHY?
Loss of relationship with sister.
...
New life begins.
As they say,
"When one door closes,
another always opens"
love lost = love found
beloved pet lost = beloved pet found
adored job lost = new job found
hated city of living lost = new city, always wanted,
found
relationship with father figure lost =
new relationship with real father found
relationship with sister lost =
rekindling of long lost best-friendship found!
I found myself standing before a chasm
at the end of a rough year
wondering...
do I jump in & disappear?
Or do I jump across,
succeeding in defeating
my circumstances?
Well, here I am
at the start of a new year,
so I guess I chose to jump across.
