“My Lil' Seuss Kitty”
A person’s a person no matter how small
And even the cat’s got a soul, after all
And she thinks she’s human, bless her soul in fur
For she is quite a character and to this, I concur
From there to here, from here to there
Funny things are everywhere!
And even her little mousies, too
Are spread throughout from room to room
I think my little kitty plays housie
With all her little mousies!
These things are fun, and fun and good
Even these things that aren’t understood
For instance, does each mousie have a name
Or a perhaps even a role in the game?
Like mommie mousie, father mousie, babie mousie more?
And neighbor mousie too from the housie next door?
Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try
My kitty’s got a lightbulb over her head and a gleam in her eye!
I adore her antics, I adore her play
I adore her more and more each and every day
I meant what I said and I said what I meant
My kitty’s got a heart that could put a huge dent
In the darkness of the world
Oh if only the rest of the world could see...
I can read in red, I can read in blue
But what does any of this mean to YOU?
If you look for the love in each living soul
Then the rest of the story in your heart will be told.

This Dr. Seuss poem was written for a writing challenge, in honor of Theodore Suess Geisel's birthday, to use all of the following in a poem 500 words or less:
A person's a person no matter how small
From there to here, from here to there, funny things are everywhere
These things are fun, and fun and good
I meant what I said and I said what I meant
Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try
I can read in red, I can read in blue
