“Friendship Truism”
Nothing soothes a troubled soul
like a friend who has known trouble
Cause at least you know you aren’t the troll
with a red “X” on it’s bubble
Since days of old, let truth be told
true friends forge a bond that sears
Straight through the heart into the soul
that lasts throughout the years
Even through the stillness
that happens sometimes
when the friendship is silent
it never ceases to be
It’s just resting
peacefully
Love, your true friend
who knows the truth
Finally! Peace
This was written for a poetry challenge to write a 24 or less line poem beginning with the two lines:
Nothing soothes a troubled soul
Like a friend who has known trouble
